Healings -> Reflexology
Reflexology is the application of pressure, stretch and movement to the feet and hands to affect corresponding parts of the body. Reflexologists feel that the feet and hands mirror the image of the body. By applying different techniques on pressure points on the feet and hands, a reflexologist can break up patterns of stress in other parts of the body. The main benefit of reflexology is stress and pain reduction, which elicits the relaxation response to the body, mind and spirit.
A reflexology session is generally 30 minutes to an hour. It is a clothed session with only the removal of shoes and socks.
An hour session includes a foot bath with a massager. Lavender oil is added to the water as well as bath salts to soften the feet. Candle light and soft meditation music is played while you sit and sip on a cup of tea and relax from the stress of your busy day. After a 15 minute soak, your feet are dried off and you are led to the massage table where you are made comfortable with a light blanket.
An examination of your feet is done before any work is begun. Then, a short introduction of Reiki healing is done on the feet to relax the client and introduce Carmen's energy to the client’s auric field. This is followed by a full session of foot massage. As a final touch, lotion or oil is applied to the feet to moisten and soften the skin. You should feel relaxed at the end of the session. Tell your reflexologist your response to the session, especially if you felt any discomfort to the bottoms of your feet.
Reflexology is a holistic approach to health and wellness.
